Welcoming a new baby home is such a special time, and it was an absolute joy to photograph this beautiful in-home newborn session in Greenwood, Indiana.
I first met this sweet couple during their maternity session, and it was so meaningful to see them again—this time with their baby boy in their arms. One of my favorite parts of being a newborn photographer is getting to document this transition into parenthood. Seeing families grow from maternity to newborn sessions is always incredibly special.
Their home created the perfect cozy setting for their session. In-home newborn photography allows families to relax in their own space, which helps create images that feel natural and meaningful. Instead of rushing out the door with a brand new baby, parents can simply settle in, snuggle their little one, and enjoy the moment.
Of course, their two cats were also an important part of the story. Pets are family too, and I always love including them whenever possible. They were curious about their new baby brother and made the session even more personal and fun.
Throughout the session we focused on capturing the quiet, everyday moments that make this stage so meaningful—mom and dad holding their baby close, tiny fingers wrapped around theirs, and the sweet snuggles that happen naturally when a newborn is finally home.
These are the kinds of moments that become family treasures years from now.
